Nick is CEO of Social Investment Business (SIB), which he joined in January 2018. SIB aims to tackle inequality through finance and support to the social economy. Since 2002, SIB has provided over £750m worth of loans and grants to more than 5,000 charities and social enterprises. Recent achievements include the £29m Resilience & Recovery Loan Fund during Covid (77 deals in 12 months) and delivering the £300m+ Youth Investment Fund for DCMS, creating hundreds of great spaces for young people to thrive.
Previously, Nick was Deputy CEO at Social Enterprise UK, where he helped treble membership numbers, develop the Buy Social Corporate Challenge, and oversaw its research function, including the State of Social Enterprise report. Before that, he was Director of Policy & Communications at the School for Social Entrepreneurs, and led the expansion of its social franchise across the country.
Nick is on the board of the Impact Investing Institute and Social Tech Trust, and is also a member of Better Society Capital’s Advisory Group, Big Issue Invest’s Outcomes Investment Fund Committee, and the Diversity Forum for Social Investment’s Steering Group.
