Global Focus: Scotland

While government interest in social enterprise in England has stagnated, Scotland’s ministers have championed the sector at the highest level for more than a decade. Scotland now contains 5,600 social enterprises, bringing in revenue of £3.8bn. A third of these have sprung up in the past 10 years.
