Crowd-funder of the week

This week Pioneers Post is supporting Chilly's Bottles, a crowd-funded venture by two young entrepreneurs – James and Tim – to bring eco-friendly water bottles to the UK.

Chilly’s was founded in 2011 by James Butterfield while at University, who developed the idea after exploring the technology behind double wall vacuum insulation, which works by creating an airless vacuum space between two stainless steel walls. The result is superior insulation that virtually eliminates temperature change, keeping your water cold and your hands warm.

Every year, billions of plastic bottles end up in landfill or discarded elsewhere, with huge negative effects on the environment and wildlife. By making Chilly’s Bottles into something that can be reused and refilled the venture seeks to reduce the avid consumption of plastic bottles.

Born on campus, Chilly's Bottles evolved as a money saving idea. Buying bottled water is an unnecessary expense, and over time can add up to large amounts of money, re-usable bottles are one way of saving money by refilling instead of buying drinks. You can support the venture on crowdfunding website Indiegogo.
