A legacy for London's homeless at The House of St. Barnabas
The House of St. Barnabas is a stunning building in the heart of Soho. Used as a shelter and training centre for the city's homeless for many years, the charity is now undergoing a full refit and turning the bottom of the building into a private members' club fit for the most trendy of Soho's inhabitants.
Upstairs, the charity will continue to operate as a training academy for those moving from homelessness to work, with courses in hospitality and industry skills.
Pioneers Post meets James Roger, a formely homeless man who found work on the construction site. We also catch up with Amy Leaning, head of the Employment Academy at St. Barnabas, who tells us why the construction going on is still at the heart of the mission of the building.
