Alastair is CEO of Social Investment Scotland, and has been with the organisation for ten years- originally joining to lead SIS’s investment team. Before joining SIS, he worked with Bank of Scotland community banking where he developed his broad and extensive knowledge of social investment. SIS provide support and investment to purposeful organisations across the UK. Alastair has overseen the significant growth of the organisation including initiatives like the Assist business support programme, the SIS retail academy and SIS Ventures, making equity investment into mission driven businesses. SIS has now provided investment approaching £80m to 400 organisations. A fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers, Alastair also serves on the boards of the North East Social Investment Company (NESIC) in the north east of England, the Scottish Children’s Lottery, and on the advisory board of Scottish Edge, supporting early stage Scottish companies.
