Bernie is an entrepreneur and social finance expert who has played an active role in the development of the responsible investment world for more than 20 years. She is the former CEO of Responsible Finance and raised over £85m of investment into businesses in the UK's most disadvantaged communities.
Bernie is a trustee of NatWest/RBS Social and Community Capital, a board member of Sustainability Connections CIC and chair of the Dreamland Trust, the the world's first amusement park of historic rides. . She also owns Bernie's Chocolate Bar, which overlooks the beach in Margate, and runs a business consultancy, which specialises in growth, investment and impact for charities and social enterprises.
