Ellen is a director heading up the VAT Consultancy Team at Buzzacott Chartered Accountants. She works with both charity/not-for-profit, social enterprises and corporate clients. In the not-for-profit sector, clients include charities, schools and colleges, Community Interest Companies and public-sector spin outs. She advises on all aspects of UK VAT, dealing with complex VAT issues, including liability, property transactions, efficient structuring and best practice. The team also provides a variety of services including assurance reviews, dealing with compliance obligations, obtaining rulings and acting for clients in dispute with HMRC or in receipt of assessments. She has also been involved in successful technical disputes and litigation with HMRC.
