Henrike Doebert is responsible for Active Philanthropy's online and offline learning opportunities for donors. This includes the Climate + Philanthropy Learning Journey but also the conceptualisation of tailor-made philanthropy curricula and other learning formats. She joined Active Philanthropy in 2020.
Henrike previously worked for 10 years at Climate Analytics, a climate science and policy institute with headquarters in Berlin. Before taking on the role as their COO in 2017 she led the project management team and managed key projects of the organisation. This included flagship projects which focused on advisory and skill building activities for climate negotiators and other key representatives from small island developing states (SIDS) and least developed countries (LDCs) in the context of the international climate change negotiations. Before entering the climate world, she worked at the European headquarters of iTunes in Luxembourg gaining experience in the corporate world. She holds a Master’s in International Affairs from Sciences Po, Paris, majoring in Conflict and Security Studies and a Bachelor's degree in International Relations from Dresden University, Germany.
Karalyn Gardner is programme officer for the climate coalition at the European Philanthropy Coalition for Climate within Philea. Her ambition is to see all foundations, regardless of their mission, integrating a climate lens across their work and philanthropy playing a catalytic role in the transition towards a more sustainable future for all. She leads the European Philanthropy Coalition for Climate’s peer-exchanges and communications, and supports the development of the global #PhilanthropyForClimate movement. Karalyn graduated from the College of Europe (Natolin, Poland) with an Advanced Master’s degree in European Interdisciplinary Studies, specialising in the EU and its Neighbourhood. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Exeter in Classics.
