Kate Balding is a freelance writer and multimedia journalist specialising in social and environmental storytelling.
Kate undertook her journalism training at Goldsmiths College, University of London, having previously attained an MSc in Nature, Society and Environmental Governance from the University of Oxford in 2019.
Prior to this, Kate worked within the editorial team for the international science journal Nature and trained as a social value and environmental consultant specialising community-led design of public spaces. She cares about building relationships between people and the planet and explores these themes in her reporting, podcasts and editorial work.
Half Irish, half New Zealander, and growing up in the Middle East, Kate has lived in many countries but is now London-based.
