Marta Maretich is an American writer living in London. Her poetry and fiction have appeared in many publications including the Harvard Review, the Jacaranda Review and the Georgia Review. The Possibility of Lions is her first novel.
Marta was born in Port Harcourt, Nigeria, and grew up in Bakersfield, California. She is a graduate of UC Berkeley and the Warren Wilson MFA Program for Writers. She has lived in France, Spain, Catalonia and Taiwan. For the past fifteen years she has been a resident of London. She is married to the painter, Michael Alford, and has one daughter.
When not writing her own fiction, Marta edits and writes for others. She has published widely on the subjects of nonprofit governance and organizational development for nonprofits in the US and the UK.
