Richard was appointed Director of the Power to Change Research Institute in November 2015. A former senior civil servant and deputy director of the think tank Reform, Richard has extensive public policy and research experience. He is a member of the Advisory Council of the National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO) and the charity Volunteering Matters, a non-executive director of the IARS International Institute, and a Visiting Senior Fellow at Queen Mary’s University. In his spare time, Richard chairs (and sings in) the Festival Chorus, a large and friendly amateur choir in South London.
